Belgium

On the 1st and 2nd of April Simone and Justin kindly allowed us to visit the lovely country of Belgium with them.
Corey and I caught the £1 bus (bargain) from London to Wokingham on the Friday night – just making it in time, no thanks to the silly “minor delays on the circle tube line”.

Then the next morning we all jumped in the car and drove to Belgium. That’s right, we drove. We took the car over on the Eurotunnel. Which is a train that goes through the tunnel under the channel between England and France. So technically we visited France and Beglium (we stopped at the petrol station in France).

The Eurotunnel is fantastic. Its cheap and easy, it only took 30 mins from one side to the other. You don’t really feel as if you have left England because theres no need to get out of the car. Its weird being in the car on a train moving fast in a deep tunnel under the sea. It was fun!

We then drove to the city of Gent in Belgium where we stayed the evening.
Gent is a lovely little town with canals and a cathedral (with a great collection of artwork) and a lovely square where we had lunch ... belgian waffles covered in chocolate, cream and icecream!

We stayed there over night in a hotel where we had a delicious continental breakfast in the morning before heading off for home, with a detour through Bruges.

This is the place that dreams are made of ... pretty much every second shop is a chocolate shop!

After here we drove back home to London, England.
