Barcelona, Spain

hey everyone
we arrived in Barcelona a little before 6pm today (Sunday, 08 Oct) and so far it seems pretty cool. I must admit that I didn´t expect much from the place apart from pick pocketing gypsys and the sooner we left, the better! But the closer we got the more I realised "we´re in Spain!". So my attitude has changed and I´m looking forward to exploring, especially San Sebastian as it is supposed to have some quality surf!
It´s pretty crazy so far. The hostel is pretty cool. Heaps of crew here. It seems there is heaps more nationalities other than Aussies, which is what we´ve had all the way around Europe. It´s funny how many Melbournians we´ve come across - even ran into a girl from Ocean Grove!

We spent the last few days travelling on the bus coming back from Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland. I cannot wait to get some photos up for you from there. It is an amazing country. We were in the Swiss Alps and although we didn´t get to go to the very top of Europe, we did go on a hike which felt like we climbed that particular peak (Jungfrau), but the view was just as spectacular! It was very awe inspiring. We were even blessed to witness some base jumpers throwing themselves off a massive cliff into the Lauterbrunnen Valley as we walked along the river! Oh it was so good! It has sparked my keeness to do it even more! Sarah forbids me to do it.
At least I have her telling me not to as an excuse for me most likely being too scared to throw myself off!
We were there 3 nights which was heaps. We made friends with an Aussie couple from Melbourne. I actually played footy with the guy in London and ran into him in Rome, so we spent a bit of time hanging out with them on the bus and talking over meals etc. Good times.
Apart from Lauterbrunnen there´s not much more to report.
We´re heading off to San Sebastian next and then back into France which we´re hoping to visit a great surfing town from one of my favorite surf movies, Endless Summer II.

Justin & Simone Trudgeon are leaving the UK and heading back to Oz via the US so we pray they´ll have a safe and fun trip.

Hope to hear from you all soon. Please keep the emails and comments coming. Miss you all heaps...
