Corey's Hamstring

Being back home has brought back into my life one of my great loves - Aussie Rules!
When we arrived home I wanted to wait a few weeks before I started playing again, which I did. But it wasn't too long until footy got the better of me, so I pulled the boots on and began about midway through the season.

I played a couple of reserves games which was great fun. I was even lucky enough to play in a win with the reserves! We defeated Queenscliffe by quite a lot. It was such a great day. The seniors won that day too.

After playing in the reserves I was stoked to be called up to the seniors and have been playing the majority of my games there.
I've been really enjoying my football - well, what was left of the season anyway. We had a win in the seniors against Barwon Heads. The reserves won that day also.
So up until last week I was having a great time...

Last week we played Drysdale. I was on and off the bench for the first quarter and a the start of the second and in the third quarter, we started to put up a bit of competition and play well.
I was really enjoying the game and having a lot of fun until the start of the last quarter.
I ran off the wing through the centre after a ball up and got a handball from Hicksy and as I went to run off, I felt this painful 'pop' in my left leg. I still had the footy so I quickly got rid of it and by this stage the pain was quite bad.

I realised that I've pulled my hamstring.

I've never done this injury before so it was quite a strange experience.
This has ended my football for the year. There is only two games left which is good but I would have loved to keep playing.
Next year...
